“What a bloody disaster” is like a basic medical examination of your website. We go through a formal process of checking and cross checking to make sure your site is in excellent working order.   • How your site is built can have as big an impact on its ranking in the search engines as paid search advertising.
  • Is the content fresh?
  • Are the semantic headings working for against you? Is there a unique title on every page to keep the search engines happy?
  • Is your site flash heavy? Search engine spiders can’t read flash! (But there are ways around this!)

INTERFACE AND USEABILITY

  • How a visitor to your website acts and reacts depends entirely on how the information is presented.
  • Did you know that 60% of people will NOT scroll down a page. Is the most important information at the bottom of the page? In most cases that’s where you will find the CONTACT US link.
  • How many CLICK HERE's are there? Every time you “click here” it's registering with the search engines which is why it’s the number one ranked phrase on Google.
  • Can the viewer find his or her way around the site to get the information required? Are all the links working (or even connected?)
  • What impression do they leave with?
  • Are they satisfied or angry and frustrated?
  • Wouldn’t you rather they told their friends about it?

BRANDING AND MARKETING

  • When someone logs on to your website they are basically poking around inside your business.
  • Are they getting the right brand experience or does your website look like its come from another planet?
  • Most people use the web to research products or services and the desire has most likely been triggered by seeing or hearing a message that you have been running on TV or online.
  • Does the campaign integrate seamlessly online?
  • Do your desired brand characteristics carry all the way through the online experience?

COPY AND CONTENT

  • Is your content relevant and up to date? Or was it last updated in 1988? (By the way, search engines prefer the most recently updated sites)
  • Does it read like a poorly translated VCR manual?
  • Has it been written by the IT department? Or worse still the new marketing assistant?
  • Everyone who comes to your site is registered as a “unique” visitor.
  • They should be treated that way. With respect. You are letting them into your office and you have a unique opportunity to talk to them all the way through your business one on one. Don’t waste it!

STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

  • The website and online marketing are a statisticians dream!
  • Everything is recorded, everything is measured and can give you a fascinating insight into how your site works.
  • If your site is set up correctly you will be able to tell where people come in from, follow them around the site, see how long they are there and see where they leave. Are your marketing campaigns having effect on site traffic? How can the statistics be improved?
